Pioneer Village

On Friday Benjamin's class went to Pioneer Village. They got to go to the little Norris School house. There was a teacher waiting there to teach them all about how school was way back when. They got to sit in the desks and have school for 1 hour. They learned(and we the parents that were there)got to learn about the different ways things were taught. Boys sat on one side and girls on the other, the class had 1st-8th grades. And all were taught at the same time. the kids got to ask all kinds of questions. They had a little lesson and had to write on little chalk boards, they even had a spelling bee. After there school was over we went and ate lunch. Then the kids had a packet they had to answer questions about the different things they saw in the buildings. They had a lot of fun. the cool part was that Benjamin's class and one other 2nd grade class went and we were the only ones there. The first Norris School house.
This is a group of boys sitting in the school.

I really love it when they do things like that! Learning about what things were like back then...very cool!
